Rethinking drinking water system with zero plastic bottles

PT PIPA is a water sustainability consultant with a mission to promote circular economy principles from the production angle to the community of water utilities and from the consumption perspective to the water consumers from the business. The hospitality sector is a priority, given its high consumption of bottled drinking water.

PT PIPA has designed an integrated “on-site” and “on-demand” purification solution, with point-of-use (POU) and glass bottling, offering the following advantages:

• On-site purification of own water bought from municipal utility providers;
• Assurance of the utmost safety and hygiene;
• Removal of the need for plastic bottles without affecting consumer confidence
• The lower price of water per bottle used in the facility.

The solution involves a combination of unique and best-in-class purification technology integrated with systems that clean bottles and gallon drums, refill them after sanitising, and capping and sealing them. The system can cater to a range of daily bottles, from 100 to 6,000 litres, and preventing plastic bottles from leaking into the plastic pollution chain.
